Yeah, I've played it years ago on my PS1. It's a good game but seems a little
underappreciated. It's got good story, good characters, etc. although due to the
size of the game - 4 discs - it can get quite repetitive especially when you
want to get enough gold to buy good stuff (IIRC, the monsters are kinda stingy
on gold) or go into combat many, many times just so you could master a combo
(called "Addition" in the game).
As for the combat system, it is quite unique since you need to time your attack
to chain the combo perfectly. Miss one and your attack falls short. As mentioned
earlier, the enemy can counter and if you bungle the counter-counterattack, your
attack is cut short AND you'll receive damage at the same time. Fortunately (or
unfortunately), you can buy the Ultimate Wargod bracelet (auto Addition success,
enemy cannot counter) for 10000g. I bought one for each member (hence the
"unfortunate" part in order to get 70000g ).
However, after that, no more need to time attacks. Just one push of a button to
make Dart unleash his Blazing Dynamo and go apes**t on the enemy. The same for
the other characters...Heh heh...*sigh* I like Rose...
I do plan on getting a PS3 but not when it is launched. Maybe I'll wait a few
months or a year even just to wait until they ironned out all the flaws and
faults. The price may also go down a bit during those periods.
That said, while it does seem expensive, AFAIK PS3 does have one thing which
IMHO sets it above XBox 360 and that is: Sony doing away with content
zoning/region coding for all games (movies will still be subject to region
coding btw). IOW, you can play NTSC-J, NTSC-U/C, PAL games in any PS3 console
out of the box. AFAIK XBox 360 still retains region coding to some extent. That
means if a game is released in PAL only & not in NTSC-U/C, you'll have to
buy a new 360 or get it modded. The amount of money to do so spent may be just
as much as buying a PS3. This of course is just my speculation only.
I couldn't care less whether PS3 does have online capabilities or not because
I'm primarily play on my own.
Quote by midnightLOVERSIF YOU WERE FOR SURE THAT HEAVEN AND HELL REALLY
EXISTED WOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
thats what i want to know. i for one would not chage my life if i was for sure
that i was going to go to hell or that hell and heaven do exist in the
afterlife. because if you cant be who you really are then your not really
living.
i believe that if you modify your life to gain something then you are not
really living your life to the fullest that your life can be. granted, heaven
and hell may always linger in your mind that shouldnt matter if your happy,
right? i know that im a religious person and that i do many things that probably
might send me into purgatory but i dont keep that from doing the things that
make me happy. dont get my wrong though. i dont do things to the extreme because
thats not in my nature to do so.
but i want to know your opinion on this. would you change
yourself?
Interesting but just a few questions before that. Now if one is really, really
sure that heaven and hell exists in which heaven is just as blissful and
beautiful as he has been told and much, much more while hell is just
as...hellish, his worst nightmares multiplied a 1000x over and much, much worse
- why wouldn't he change? If he knows that an action will take him to heaven,
why not take it even if it is contrary to his personal enjoyment/base
desires/emotions or not being able to live life to the 'fullest' so to speak?
Similarly, if he knows an action leads to hell (which is all too real in this
scenario), why wouldn't he abandon that action?
Now, in this scenario it is assumed in all certainty that heaven and hell are
real and existing. In all likelihood, everyone will act along the lines of two
choices only and will most likely do all good acts to the best of their
abilities to earn heaven. Can we then say that they are acting in the extreme or
not happy or not living their own life? This of course doesn't mean that we'll
be saints and angels but our actions will strongly gravitate to
"heaven" choice rather than "hell" choice. In this scenario,
even if the person is not religious, the instinct of self-preservation will
always override base desires because as far as I know, no one wants to burn and
be damned for all eternity.
The reason people all over the world acting as they are now is that they either
(i) do not believe heaven/hell exist or (ii) believe heaven/hell exist but
because they can't see it or know for certainty that heaven/hell are real, they
do things as we see them today i.e. good and bad intermixed - "normal"
people.
Thus in this specific scenario, to abandon choices that leads to eternal good
rewards and adopting those which will result in eternal damnation/torture just
for the sake of being able to live life to its fullest just speaks of poor
judgment and illogical desire/act to hurl oneself to own
self-destruction.
EDIT: As for me personally (assuming I'm a very bad guy prior to this
knowledge), yes I'll change.
Oh yeah, who have played this one? Let me have a show of hands please.
I got mine recently and just finished it. The good news is...Lara is back. By
that, I mean she is much better now than her previous showing. TR Legend kinda
brought back that nostalgic feeling of playing TR1 the first time. According to
the development team of Crystal Dynamics, that's exactly what they had in mind -
return Lara to her roots, the basics of what made TR1 good & that's what
they did. They even called in Lara creator to oversee her development in
Legends, give her a story since this game involves Lara & her family to some
extent & speaking of Lady Croft herself, she looks...yummy. Really.
The puzzles are nicely done and requires the player to be observant of
surroundings. You get to visit some good selection of locales, trounce the bad
guys a bit, swinging from poles, climbing ledges & stuff, etc.
The bad thing as I see it is that the game is short. I don't mind a game being
short if it is done well which IMHO is what Crystal Dynamics have done (although
I admit it is a bit of a disappointment). However, if this is a peek of the path
the subsequent games will take, lets just say TR is back in business & it is
going to be a good ride.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back and hunt for all of Lara's
unlockable outfits.
Quote by animefairyI would like to try
out Siren some time. It sounds similar to Silent Hill, but I'm ready to try
something new! Hahaha. ^_^
You should but one caveat though: unlike Silent Hill, the zombies in Siren
(called "shibito") can't really die. So don't treat it like Silent
Hill or Resident Evil.
Nope. I don't see a problem with men crying...as long as there is a good reason
for it. By this I mean something that would make anyone cry such as the death or
loss of a parent or both, family member(s), valued friend or maybe something
like that. Doesn't mean that someone has to die before a man can cry. As long as
it is something that represents deep personal loss, it's ok. It shows that he's
human after all.
Kira is both SEED & Newtype. There is no other explanation for that
"Newtype Flash" other than that of Newtype abilities. However, Kira's
may only be emerging. A logical explanation of this is that La Flaga's genes may
have been used in Kira's 'creation'. This would also explain why Rau and Rey
hated Kira so much since they are failed clones from the same project that gave
birth to Kira.
For putting the hurt on enemies: either Bahamut or Griever. Bahamut is cool, we
saw that already in Advent Children & nothing delivers a statement of
'kickass-ness' than a huge dragon flying around breathing huge fireballs.
Griever is also cool since I like lions.
For assisting in daily life? None whatsoever. They are all too big, all for
purposes of battles/wars and not relevant in anyway to my daily life.
Avatar is perhaps one of the best western anime-style cartoon to date. It is
produced in California but animated in S. Korea. Good story, believeable
characters, awesome bending arts. I don't know if it has completed its run which
AFAIK, not yet so I'd suggest catching up now. Better yet, if the Nickelodeon
have released boxsets of Book 1: Water, get that. It's better to follow it from
the beginning.
I think yes, Lacus does have SEED but she goes into it in a different way than
Kira, Athrun or any other character. It is also possible that her SEED mode is
linked to Kira in some way since she was able to sense when Kira was in danger
during the battle vs Rey in GSD.
I've played many of them but as far as I am concerned, they're not that good.
Some really sucked like Journey to Jaburo (the worst of the lot IMHO). The best
so far is Federation vs. Zeon, 2nd is Encounters in Space, 3rd is a tie between
Zeonic Front/Gundam vs Zeta Gundam/AEUG vs Titans but all in all, handling a
Gundam or MS in all of them makes me feel like I'm piloting a tank...in
space...with ineffectual weapons. The same applies even to Never Ending
Tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, I love Gundam but the games simply don't do them
justice.
Sheesh...just to give an example, you can use Providence Gundam (after you
unlock it) but does it perform similarly as in the anime? Far from it. Same goes
for Freedom, Justice, METEOR, etc. Here, I'm not talking about replicating the
anime. It's just that...the feel is not there. Lack of intensity, sometimes
unresponsive control, so-so audio/visual, etc.
Seriously, even the Armored Core series have faster & more intense combat
than the Gundam franchise (I've played them since AC1 on PS) & lets not even
talk about the hyperkinetic approach and feel of Zone of the Enders series.
Bandai has a lot to learn from both From Software/Agetec and Konami when it
comes to developing mech games.
Sometimes, Kaname just takes Sousuke for granted that she only realises how
important he is when he is missing (like in 2nd Raid) but Tessa didn't except
that her position makes it difficult for her to go for Sousuke directly. When
these two play tug of war over Sousuke, that makes him honest.
Quote by JenosydesWhisperMatrixOkay
over here in the States I didn't get to see what Raila Cruse (you know Mu
Laflaga's father's clone: sorry if I spelled his name wrong) looked like under
his mask...for all of those that are in the know can you tell me like does he
have like a third eye, rapidly ageing eyes, no eyes or WHAT! I'm going crazy! OH
and it's okay if the answers are found in Destiny just please tell me.
Okay what does the Seed aspect have to do with anything? They really didn't
explain it too well only that it makes Kira, Athrun, and Cagalli into
Berserkers, which doesn't tell me anything *CRIES*.
Well okay I guess that's it...please focus mainly on my first question
thanks!
Al da Flaga was shown in flashbacks in GS. You can see him in a few flashbacks
involving Dr. Hibiki.
As for SEED, it is not berserker rage. Going berserk = losing control. OTOH,
SEED enhances control, speed, reflex. Not everyone has SEED. It is a rare
ability. Even rarer is Newtype ability.
Quote by MapleRoseIf Lacus were to
somehow die, Kira would have a breakdown. Either he goes insane and evil, or
incredibly depressed and angry, and blames himself (maybe suicide...). I mean,
look what happened when Fllay died. I think he's more likely to blame himself
than take it out on others. I think he leanred his lesson in the desert, but
then again, he may not have the mind to remember. but he is the type to blame
himself when he can't protect someone...
That's what I meant - when Fllay died, Kira went from stunned to "I want
Rau's blood NOW!". Yet,
Kira had already dumped Fllay at that point.
OTOH, Lacus had been his healer all that time & was Kira's point of
attention at that time. So had Lacus died, the most probable scenario is that
Kira goes berserk (times two) and then he sulks. Either that or Athrun + the
Archangel would have to work overtime to take him down.
If 'gone' as in Lacus being absent from the battle, the alliance might be
demoralised a bit since IMHO Lacus is their moral centre but they can still pull
a win.
If 'gone' as in 'died' - Kira goes ape**** and kills every ZAFT MS in sight.
Herbert Spencer coined the phrase "Survival of the fittest".
Where God is concerned, it is "Survival of the virtuous". All these sufferings we see are tests from God, all of them.

Chiyo-chan simply because she's a genius, fiendishly cute and she can turn into a Super Saiya. :P

Fatal Frame 2. It was even scarier than FF3.
Then Silent Hill series and Siren. Siren 2 is already out in Japan. Can't wait for the English version.
Um....what do you mean by 'poser' here?

See? Athrun does make a cute girl, isn't she? I mean a 'he'! But if it's still a 'he' that makes that picture so very wrong.
I like them both.

"If you want my name, then you can have it. My appearance as well. But even then, you and I are different human beings." - Lacus to Meer.

What kind of 'gone' do you mean with 'gone'?

For good or bad, I can't see any other pairing for these two. So yeah, definitely.
